Eliza Ward-A past pupil of mine from St.Matthew`s Primary school in Belfast who was brutally murdered at her place of work aged 18 in 1997 whilst trying to protect her employer from attack.Eliza will always be remembered by her schoolmates for her roguish sense of humour and her courage.

When I think back on the childhood you spent in the heart of Belfast,I see you laughing,
Running and jumping in the schoolyard,
Your unrestrained beauty was for all to see,like a halo around you , In the innocence of those days.
Now I whisper a prayer in the cold Milltown air,
Please forgive us this bitterness we feel,
for the way in which we lost you ,
and how you slipped away..
