The restoration of the"Canadian"Gordon -Feb.`07

An X-ray photograph taken during restoration. Many thanks to Peter Boardman for his skill, patience and enthusiasm for this little project.

The "Canadian "Gordon was restored extensively in the latter part of 2006 by Peter Boardman of Donaghadee,Co.Down.Our agreed idea was not to modernise the fiddle but to restore it to the state,as far as possible , in which it left the maker`s hands. It retains it`s original semi-baroque bassbar, neck, fingerboard and tailpiece.I hope to have a soundfile up on-site soon to give an idea of it`s tone.

Original hand cut tailpiece from Holly wood
